Last Sunday the VAM Chamber Players performed the music of Mendelssohn for the final concert of our 2025/26 Resonate Series 🎻

The program featured the beloved String Octet in E-flat major, Op. 20, alongside Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49, composed in 1839 in a 'Schumannesque’ style and the vibrant String Quartet No. 3 in D major, Op. 44.

How do you tell a story you don't have the words for?

That is the question that playwright and performer Jasmine Chen explores through music, movement, and storytelling in Jade Circle.

Closing this season's Play Series, Jade Circle is a deeply personal exploration of cultural identity, memory, and the bond between mothers and daughters.

Following on from Mother’s Day earlier this month, Jade Circle is a beautiful and moving invitation to connect with family members, acknowledge where we've come from, and conserve our legacies for the future.

Yearning to reconnect with her late grandmother, Jasmine embarks on a transformative journey to relearn Mandarin and unearth lost stories of her grandmother’s past through interviews with her mother.

This intimate story is told through powerful music, captivating movement, and poignant storytelling in Mandarin and English, followed by a post-show conversation with playwright and performer Jasmine Chen.

And that's a wrap on our 2025/26 Amplify Mainstage Series!

This season saw remarkable performances from TOO MANY ZOOZ, Sister Jazz Orchestra, Yagody, Jeremy Dutcher, Car Wheels on a Gravel Road Reimagined with BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts at Capilano University, Kings Return, and Emmet Cohen. Thank you to all of our wonderful audience members for supporting live music in West Vancouver!

Jaeden Izik-Dzurko delivered a jaw-dropping performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, alongside the .school Symphony Orchestra.
