ENGAGED AND ENTHUSED - The Rise Of The Dog Patch Music Festival…..
📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️📽️
This is a documentary that was filmed over 10 years during the building of a true grass roots music festival called Dog Patch Music Festival in Whelan, Saskatchewan.
Follow the ups and downs of one family as they build a festival from the ground up… Literally. From the loss of the founder’s parents, loss of a marriage and a life changing storm that almost shut the entire festival down for good. Follow the story of a small group that refused to stop chasing a dream of bringing people together.
Go back all the way to the beginning. To the 1970’s as a young American soldier moves to the Canadian wilderness after being wounded in Vietnam, then meeting a young hippy woman, falling in love and building a pioneer style life in the Saskatchewan Boreal Forest.
This is a story of losses and gains and was filmed by Andrew Sorsdahl and his team at Prehistoric Productions over 10 years.
This is just as much a human story as it is a story about sharing art and music.
A special thank you is in order for Aspen Beveridge who wrote, produced and performed the beautifully written song called “Dance Through The Dust” thats found at the end of the film.
Special thanks to our board of directors, volunteers and all those that support this dream.
