ESA is a student run association that hosts both academic and social events throughout the school year to enhance each English Students experience here at Laurier. ESA acts as a voice and support for the English students and we welcome anyone who has a passion for the Arts. Some of our events include meet the profs night, study sessions, board game night, and this year we are introducing a trip to the Stratford festival.

Exciting news, English Enthusiasts!

As exam season swiftly approaches, we wanted to provide you with a place to study with your friends on campus, while getting great advice in the process!

Join the ESA, in association with Teaching & Learning, this Friday, from 2-4 pm in SB103, to Keep Calm and Study On!

This chill study session will have all of the amenities you could want for a relaxing time, including snacky foods, coffee, and tea! There will also be a few English professors present to answer your questions and to provide you with some professional tips for final exams and essays!

The event is drop-in, so come when you can and stay for as long as you need! Masks are required unless actively eating or drinking. A green badge on the SafeHawk app is required. Attendance for this event will also count as one of the three events needed to qualify as a General Member in the ESA.

We hope to see you there! Keep at it!

Prepare to be spooked, English Enthusiasts!

This Thursday, from 7pm-11:30pm in Arts 1E1, we're hosting our Halloween Double Feature, where we'll be screening spooky movies based on spooky books.

After a showing of Spongebob Squarepants' season 1 classic "Scaredy Pants", we begin at 7 with Coraline, the critically acclaimed stop-motion extravaganza based on Neil Gaiman's novella of the same name.

Then, after a brief and very scary intermission featuring the analog horror shorts of Youtube's Channel 58, we'll get back into it at 9pm for our showing of Kubrick's The Shining, based on Steven King's classic horror masterpiece!

This hair-raising event will feature free pizza and chips, and will follow Covid guidelines to keep you safe! If you are interested in attending, please fill out this RSVP (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc-YQdcutI2RHrI86vVIyDEccyZxoDxMP3CsXlk2FnD6pi7Kg/viewform).
