It is with great sadness that after 20 years of first creating the Waterloo Marathon and Ed Whitlock Half Marathon, that I have to cancel the 2023 Races.
There are two Main Reasons for this:
#1. The Start and Finish Line Route Roads are being re-paved and I have been asked to find another Route – not possible for a number of reasons.
#2. Our Expenses far exceeded our Income this year and this is despite Steed and Evans not charging us for Closing the Roads. Obviously, our major Fundraiser has to Raise Funds for our Volunteer Programmes.
We will fully refund those who have registered for previous races but not able to run or give them a tax receipt, please reach out
I would like to sincerely thank (in no particular order)
* Every runner who took part in our races over the years – without you, we could not have financially supported our Volunteer Community Services.
