-------BAND REQUIREMENTS-------
All musicians/groups must register by contacting [email protected] and sending a video or audio demo and a photo of the musician/group. Please make the email subject line "AUDITION - [MUSICIAN/GROUP NAME]"
ELIGIBILITY AND PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES
- At least 50% of band members must be 18 years or younger.
- Each group must have at least one instrument played live -- No pre-recording backing tracks allowed.
SONG SUBMISSION AND SELECTION
- Each musician/group will provide 3-4 songs in their audition. A festival committee will select which songs will be played on the day of the competition.
- Please include one traditional Christian song in your audition.
- 8 musicians/groups will be selected by the committee to compete. Selected musicians/groups will be notified the week of August 4-8.
- Selected musicians/groups will pay a $100 entrance fee, which will be fully refunded at the event. Musicians/groups who do not place within the top 3 will be reimbursed an additional $100 for travel expenses.
EVENT DAY RULES AND EXPECTATIONS
- You/your group will play with passion and love to honour God.
- Only 8 competitors will be selected for the event, but two additional musicians/groups will be contacted as backup in case of cancellation.
- Selected groups are expected to arrive at least 60 minutes before the event begins.
- Backline will be provided, including drum set, bass amp, and sound equipment.
PRIZE MONEY AND DISTRIBUTION
- Prize money will be divided equally among all group members of winning groups.
- 1/3 of total winnings will be donated to the winning group's youth program or Youth For Christ Norfolk.
FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT
If you are not selected for this year, we encourage you to continue practicing and praising God, and to try out again next year. We pray that God blesses you all, His eye is upon you and His love and peace is given to you.
