And with that, IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference 2026 comes to a close.

Our ninth iteration of IMPACT and Day of IMPACT heard moving sessions ranging from food security, Indigenous perspectives, transportation, AI, DMO partnerships, and more. Our Victoria Summit challenged how industry professionals perceive, lead, and act in the travel and tourism space, inspiring us to utilize our business models as a force for good. 🌎🌱

We want to take this moment to thank each and every one of our IMPACT attendees, speakers and sponsors for your unwavering support in this gathering.

We’re heading into four inspiring days of new connections and collaborative thinking, focused on practical solutions and hopeful pathways for the future of tourism.

IMPACT unites and reunites DMOs, tourism operators, small businesses, government, Indigenous leaders, and academia in a shared commitment to shaping a more sustainable, resilient industry. We’re incredibly proud to host this community of changemakers in beautiful Victoria, BC.

✈️ We’re pleased to announce that Elizabeth Brown, President & CEO of the Victoria International Airport Authority, will be joining the transportation panel “From Place to Place: Rethinking Transportation in Tourism” at IMPACT!

Elizabeth brings more than 20 years of global aviation leadership experience, with senior roles spanning North America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Since returning to Greater Victoria in 2023, she has led the strategic direction and long-term development of Victoria International Airport (YYJ) with a focus on safety, sustainability, partnership, and economic impact for Vancouver Island.

Previously, Elizabeth held executive leadership roles with VINCI Airports / TBI, including overseeing one of the only privatized airports in the United States, and played a key role in launching the world’s first cross-border airport terminal (Cross Border Xpress) between San Diego and Tijuana. Her career reflects a deep understanding of how transportation infrastructure can enable innovation, connectivity, and responsible growth in tourism. ☁️🌞

We’re excited to announce that Mikey Sadowski, Vice President of Communications at Intrepid Travel, will be joining the fireside chat “The Courage to Be the First: Spearheading New Initiatives” at IMPACT 2026. 🌎🌱

As a senior leader at Intrepid Travel, a B Corp–certified tour operator, Mikey plays a key role in shaping the organization’s global brand positioning, advocacy, and communications. He directly helps Intrepid lead the conversation on responsible and regenerative travel.

Having visited all seven continents, with experiences ranging from living alongside Indigenous reindeer herding communities in Siberia to cycling across Tanzania, he brings a deeply global and grounded perspective to storytelling and leadership.

We’re pleased to announce that Trina White, General Manager of Parkside Hotel & Spa, will be co-leading the workshop “Tourism Leadership That Makes a Difference” at IMPACT alongside Celes Davar and Tam Andersen! 🏨 🌱

Trina is widely recognized for embedding sustainability into successful, everyday business practice. She is the recipient of the 2023 Hotelier of the Year Award from the BC Hotel Association and has played a key role in advancing industry-wide collaboration, including establishing a sustainability committee within the Hotel Association of Greater Victoria.

Beyond her leadership at The Parkside, Trina serves as Vice Chair of Destination Greater Victoria and Chair of its Finance and Membership Committee, while also volunteering as a business coach through Project Zero and The Decade of Action, supporting start-ups focused on the circular economy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She is also an Associate Professor and a graduate of Royal Roads University, where she earned a Master’s in Tourism Management and received the Founders’ Award.

She is the perfect person to draw inspiration from for this workshop! Don't miss her at IMPACT 2026.
