16 years ago, we said goodbye to this beautiful artist, Chantal, who passed away at only 44 yrs. old, after a 7 year, long and courageous battle with cancer. 💔

Chantal played at Give Peace a Chant's Kirtan on Friday nights... until she couldn't... lending her silky smooth tenor, expert musicianship, mesmerizing sound healing, and songwriting ability to the community gatherings... without a single complaint. Chantal was faithful to her practice.

A thoughtful, kind and caring friend to many, she will always be remembered as a genuinely devoted and supportive musician. She loved 'Give Peace a Chant' and we played together, right to the end, even when she herself was in need of support... she played on... with a warm heart and a smile that would light up the room!

We miss you, Chantal Jolly! Blessings, always 💖

✨ Here we are, ! A.k.a. in Canada, a statutory holiday since 1894 that originated to promote working-class solidarity and belonging during a time of rapid industrialization. Now, over a century later, we find ourselves in an era of rapidly growing AI technology. I'm wondering how we're all coping?

Recently, I received notification that our album, ‘Gopal Lila’ by Give Peace a Chant would be removed from Spotify after irregular / artificial (AI) streaming patterns were detected.

Spotify claimed that the listening count on our instrumental track, ‘Goshala Groove’ had been artificially inflated, rendering it guilty of fraudulently generating income.

I responded to Spotify immediately by submitting an online form disputing their peculiar and unfair action.

Sadly, the very next day, I saw that the entire album 'Gopal Lila' had indeed been taken down, not only from Spotify, but from ALL digital platforms, including Apple music, Tidal, YouTube and even Amazon…

Meanwhile, our album ‘Gopal Lila’ by Give Peace a Chant is still available on Bandcamp, where you can listen to all our CDs and some lovely live recordings, too… our songs are available for only $1 each or you can purchase our whole library... and it's yours to keep, forever!

Finally, just to say that I hardly post on social media anymore due to deep feelings I have about where it all goes, what it feeds.
