We're celebrating 40 years of Canada Place on Vancouver’s waterfront.

Since opening in 1986, Canada Place has become one of Canada’s most recognizable landmarks — a place of connection, celebration, and shared experiences for residents and visitors alike. It continues to play an important role in welcoming people to the region and supporting Canada’s global trade.

Have you ever heard the first four notes of O Canada ring out through Vancouver at noon? If you have, then you’ve heard the Heritage Horns.
Originally built on the BC Hydro Building in 1964 then later moved to Canada Place in 1994 these horns have been sounding every day at noon for over 60 years.


Avez-vous déjà entendu les quatre premières notes de « Ô Canada » résonner à travers Vancouver à midi ? Si oui, c'est que vous avez entendu les Heritage Horns.
Installées à l'origine sur le bâtiment de BC Hydro en 1964, puis transférées à Canada Place en 1994, ces sirènes retentissent tous les jours à midi depuis plus de 60 ans.

⚓ The countdown is on! Less than week until the first cruise ship of the season docks at Vancouver’s Canada Place terminal.

This year, we’re expecting a record 350+ cruise calls and 1.4 million passengers passing through - all part of the Alaska cruise season from May to September. 🛳️

With so many visitors arriving, Vancouver is set for an incredible season - bringing adventure to passengers and over $1 billion into the local economy. 🌊✨ We’re ready to set sail!

Have you seen the Voyage Canada exhibit along the Canadian Trail?

Next time you're walking down the west promenade at Canada Place, check out the red interpretive sign panels for some quirky Canadian stories. Today, we're featuring "The Disappearance of Ambrose Small". Ambrose Small was a theatre mogul who owned 7 playhouses. After selling his holdings for a profit of $2 million and meeting with his lawyers, he was never seen again. His wife promised a reward of $50,000 for his return, and sightings occurred as far away as Mexico. "Looking for Ambrose Small?" became a popular catch-phrase in Ontario.
