From soccer cheers to street celebrations, we celebrate the passion, pride and unity that fills The Drive each June. 🇮🇹 🇮🇹 OUR STORY
Held annually on the second Sunday of June, Italian Day on The Drive is a vibrant cultural street festival celebrating Italian heritage, community, and the spirit of la dolce vita. A joyful embrace of culture and community, the 14-block festa transforms Commercial Dr
ive — home to Vancouver’s historic Little Italy — into a lively open-air piazza filled with music, dancing, food, fashion, art, and family fun. On Sunday, June 14, 2026, The Drive will once again come alive — this year embracing the theme Campione, meaning Champion. Within Italian culture, Campione embodies heart, pride, and perseverance. It reflects Italy’s enduring passion for sport, art, fashion, food, wine, and community, and honours all who rise to the occasion with strength and spirit. In 2026, Italian Day on The Drive embraces this champion energy as we mark another milestone in our storia. From the roar of a soccer match to the joy of shared celebration, Campione reminds us that victory takes many forms — and that when community comes together, we all win. Since its revival in 2010, Italian Day has become one of Vancouver’s largest and most beloved cultural festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. From food and wine gardens to live performances, artisan markets, family activities, and cultural showcases, Italian Day is where Vancouver gathers to live la dolce vita. THE SPIRIT OF LITTLE ITALY
Recognizing more than 70 years of Italian heritage, the City of Vancouver officially designated eight blocks of Commercial Drive as Vancouver’s historic Little Italy — a neighbourhood where heritage lives and celebration never ends. From espresso bars and pastry shops to traditional tailors, trattorias, and family-run businesses, these landmarks continue to carry forward the flavours, craftsmanship, and tradition that define Vancouver’s Italian community. In 2018, Italian Day was added to Vancouver’s Official Observances and Celebrations, marking June as Italian Heritage Month. The following year, with support from FortisBC and the City, new heritage crosswalks in the colours of the Italian flag were unveiled at three intersections in Little Italy — symbolic pathways connecting the past, present, and future. The spirit of champions has long lived on The Drive. In 2006, the streets overflowed with fans celebrating Italy’s World Cup victory — a day that united generations in pride, passion, and joy. Now, twenty years later, as the FIFA World Cup arrives in Vancouver, Italian Day will once again shine brightly — welcoming the world to celebrate on The Drive. Together, we raise the flag for unity, joy, and heritage — a celebration where community becomes famiglia, and every supporter shares in the victory. Siamo Tutti Campioni. 💚🤍❤️
