Crafted Vancouver is an annual 25-day festival that presents and advances outstanding local, Canadian and International craftsmanship and creativity through a curated program of events taking place in venues throughout Metro Vancouver & the Fraser Valley. Existing as a platform for our Event Partners and Crafted Vancouver’s own hosted events, we seek to design a festival that continual

ly cultivates interest and appreciation of outstanding craftsmanship & design. We build a bridge between skilled craftspeople & designers, the dedicated collector and a discerning craft appreciator market. Throughout the 25-day festival, a set of curated events and encounters take place primarily in intimate settings, including a unique and exclusive online program. These smaller-scaled events give our festival audience a chance to meet our Event Partners, the creators and supporters of outstanding craft-based works, and experience remarkable skills and objects up close.

Along with our official Event Partners, we foster public appreciation by featuring exceptional artists & designers working in multiple disciplines across the craft continuum, from ancestral, tribal & traditional to leading-edge contemporary.

The festival programme is carefully designed to cultivate interest and appreciation of fine craft between skilled craftspeople & designers, the dedicated collector and an emerging craft appreciator market in intimate settings and encounters.

Crafted Vancouver pools together a unique blend of local, national & international: Independent makers + designers, studios & craft collectives, galleries, museums, showrooms, shops & luxury brands, craft & design schools, cultural organizations, craft member associations, curators, scholars, collectors, embassies, writers, chefs and other regional producers of food & beverage all making, exhibiting, supporting or selling exceptional craft-based work.

EVENT TYPES Our Signature and Events Programme include exclusive demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops, artist’s talks and presentations, guided tours, dining and tasting events, film screenings, live podcast, small selling events & other community collaborations, all custom designed to get you up close and personal, celebrating exceptional fine craft and our crafted world in fresh and sometimes surprising ways. EVENT DISCIPLINES Event Partners practice or represent multiple craft disciplines in a multitude of fields including: interior furnishing & decoration, woodworking, lighting, jewellery, metalworking, ceramics, glass & crystal, fashion, textiles, leatherworking, paper, graphics & printing, games, toys & mechanical objects, musical instrument making, restoration, performing arts, heritage building and gardening, craft-themed film and more. * Follow us on Facebook, Instagram @craftedvancouver, and Twitter @craftedvancvr for between-Festival highlights & updates. * Calls for submissions for Crafted Vancouver 2021 will begin September 15, 2020.
