What an incredible ride! 🚴️🩵

This year’s Capilano Volkswagen Cypress Challenge, presented by Glotman•Simpson Cycling, was nothing short of inspiring — with a record-breaking turnout and fundraising total for pancreatic cancer research at BC Cancer!

The 2025 Capilano Volkswagen Cypress Challenge, presented by Glotman•Simpson Cycling, has raised over $825,000 for pancreatic cancer research and care at BC Cancer.

This achievement was made possible by the 906 participants and 65 teams who made the 12 km climb up Cypress Mountain, as well as our generous donors, dedicated volunteers and incredible sponsors.

Together, this inspiring community has raised over $6 million to date, bringing hope to the 800 families in B.C. who face pancreatic cancer each year.

Get ready for Sunday’s ride!

Before hitting the road, review these essential safety guidelines:

✅ Wear a certified helmet (chinstrap buckled)
✅ Obey traffic signals, stay right, ride in a single file
✅ Stay on the designated course
✅ Use hand signals when passing (only on the left)
✅ Move off the road to rest or repair
✅ Pace yourself, hydrate and listen to your body
✅ Stay alert on narrow sections and blind curves

It’s a community ride, not a race — stay safe and enjoy the experience!

A reminder for descending Cypress Mountain:

🚴 The descent is unsupported with no closures — ride cautiously or arrange a ride down
🚴 Control your speed, stay right and maintain a safe distance from vehicles
🚴 Use brakes evenly and feather them on long stretches
