Get to know the top Canadian players coming to Vancouver to play for the national title.
Danielle Letourneau is the defending champion, winning the national title in 2021 and also in 2018.
Since joining the PSA World Tour in 2015 she’s steadily climbed up the rankings to an impressive World #25, and #2 in Canada.
was only 6 years old when she first picked up a racquet, and since then squash has taken her through 4 years at Cornell University (where she was co-captain of the varsity team) and onto the professional tour.
On the tour she has travelled all around the world, notching several wins on the Challenger Tour until finally breaking through into the Round of 16 in Platinum level events on the World Tour like the British Open and CIB Egyptian Open in 2021.
Most recently she was playing in the PSA World Championships Cairo 2022 where she made it to the 2nd round. The tournament is the richest in squash history with $1.1M in prize money split equally between the men and women.

Favourite Match You’ve Played: Playing Nicol David in Hong Kong. It was the only time I played her and an incredible experience to play against the GOAT. It was a fun match to play because of her fair and kind demeanour, but also a great learning experience squash wise.

Plus récemment, elle a participé aux Championnats du monde PSA du Caire 2022, où elle a atteint le deuxième tour. Ce tournoi est le plus lucratif de l'histoire du squash avec 1,1 million de dollars de prix répartis équitablement entre les femmes et les hommes.

Le Match Que Vous Avez Préféré Jouer: La fois où j’ai affronté Nicol David à Hong Kong. C’est la seule fois où j’ai pu affronter la meilleure joueuse de tous les temps, et ce fut une expérience incroyable. Le match était amusant, car elle joue avec un esprit sportif et avec gentillesse, et ce fut une expérience enrichissante sur le plan du squash.
