Author and illustrator Jackie Morris in conversation with artist Fly Freeman!

Jackie will be celebrating the launch of The Book of Birds, which she co-authored with Robert McFarlane. You may recognize this duo as the creators behind the internationally bestselling, award-winning, multi-adapted phenomenon, THE LOST WORDS.

Seven years in the making, their new title -The Book of Birds - is a love letter to the splendours and mysteries of birdlife, and a clarion call to halt the loss of birds from land, sea and sky.

We’ll be serving tea and scones, and, as an extra special treat, Jackie Morris will be live painting throughout the discussion!

This year, we're collaborating with the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario to bring an event at the Historic Leaskdale Church featuring two authors with strong ties to Maud:

Author and Montgomery scholar Benjamin Lefebvre with his work, THE GLORY AND THE DREAM: L.M. MONTGOMERY'S WRITING LIFE

Andrea Ezerins with her novel WHEN THE FOREST DREAMS, a contemporary retelling of Lucy Maud Montgomery's beloved romance, The Blue Castle.

Your $30 ticket includes our two featured authors in discussion, a tour of the manse, refreshments (including raspberry cordial!) and a $20 voucher towards your book purchase at the event.
