BIO: Moira is an Illiuiskwew (Cree woman) born and raised on Moose Factory Island, ON. Her family stems from both the East and West coasts of James Bay in Northern Ontario. She is a traditional hand-poke tattoo artist, a beadworker, and a ceremony helper. She began her tattoo journey 1 year ago at the Tyendinaga Tattoo Gathering in May 2024, apprenticing under Gillian Prince and practicing since. Her style is traditional line work influenced by her homelands and spirituality. Custom designs are made in collaboration with clients. Tattoos/markings for Indigenous peoples.

I am an indigenous traditional handpoke tattoo practitioner, urban farmer, and father from Detroit, Michigan.
I am turtle clan, a registered Lenni Lenape to the Moraviantown reservation (Bucktown), Moravian of the Thames, and have blood and family connections to the Mohawk, Onondaga, and Anishinaabe.
I began my handpoke tattooing practice in 2017 and have been offering it as a service to my communities ever since.
I frequently travel up to Ontario, Canada to tattoo at various native events such as pow wows, fundraisers, and indigenous tattoo gatherings on First Nations reservations.
Traditional Handpoke is a very spiritual practice and ceremony to me that I have soo much love for. I work to bring healing and connection to all those whom I work with through this service to my communities in a good way ~
I am also of Celtic / Germanic blood and honor those ways of design and process as well.
I am happy and honored to incorporate any associated traditional cultural ways of your peoples medicine from all nations, colors, and creed into my practice.
I have my own designs usually on hand to inspire some ideas, but am flexible enough to design and create something for you specifically on the spot.
