On Thursday, February 5th, we celebrated 20 local organizations who support youth in our community. Each of these groups received a portion of the $28,500 funds, generated through this year's very successful Tweed Festival of Trees. This brings the total amount given back to the community through Festival of Trees over the years to $351,500!! Congratulations to all recipients and thank you for your amazing work as you support youth across the Municipality of Tweed! The organizations receiving this year's funds are: Camp Quin-Mo-Lac, Foundations Youth Centre Tweed, Tweed Public Library, Gateway Community Health Centre Youth Jazz Ensemble, Girl Guides, Kids Help Line, The Land O' Lakes Curling Club Youth Program, Marlbank Recreation, YMCA Summer Pool Program, OPP Adopt a Child Program, Queensborough Community Centre, 385 Royal Canadian Army Cadets, Tweed & Co. plus Youth Summer Program, Tweed & District Figure Skating, Tweed Hungerford Agricultural Society Youth Programs, Tweed Minor Hockey Association, Tweed Food Bank, Tweed Elementary School Musical, Tweed Soccer Association, and the Central Hastings School Musical. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Tweed Festival of Trees for their outstanding contribution, which will significantly enhance children's entertainment at our Fair on July 10-12. Also their annual transformation of our hall into a spectacular holiday venue, and we wish all a continued success in 2026.

As our 21st Tweed Festival of Trees weekend (and all of the follow-up tasks) has come to an end, we want to give a shout out to all of the amazing volunteers who helped to make the magic happen! This includes those who volunteered over the weekend as well as those who helped with tearing down and packing things up until next year!
Weโ€™d also like to thank the member of our community who came forward to help straighten out the mix-up and helped ensure that all winners received their tree this week! Congratulations to all winners! We look forward to distributing proceeds from the event to local youth organizations in the new year! Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season full of joy and peace!
