N-ergy by Nadine My new challenge in 2024 is Ironman 70.3 at Mont Tremblant, inspired by those who push me along. In 2024, it's 100 Days to Ironman 70.3 Mont Tremblant.

After creating this page on Aug 21 2016 and using it to provide my daily motivation for 60 days prior to the Scotiabank Waterfront Toronto Marathon where I ran the half marathon on Oct 16, 2016, I re-purposed this page on Dec 7 2016 towards a new goal - my 150 days to a full marathon at the Mississauga Marathon which took place on May 7, 2017. I continue to repurpose the page name even when I run different races, and up my game.

The strength and stability to balance is also part of fitness. Calisthenics got me there with Coach Ramsthenics

It took months, but I eventually progressed to 11-second free handstand.

The progression includes:
đź’« handstand from floor
đź’« handstand from chair
đź’« handstand from wall

…and finally that got me to a free handstand!

IRONMAN Muskoka 70.3 Complete! I placed last in my age group! And among the last by gender and overall. But more importantly, I was the last one across the finish line at 4:04:40 pm before the course closed at 4:05pm, but I finished the biggest athletic challenge I put for myself. I owe thanks to so many… and will write a more meaningful post when I am coherent and have rested.

DAY 2: Grand plans for today with a goal of getting comfortable and familiar with the race routes. Athlete check in done âś… Practice bike ride for 20 km to try out the elevation done âś… Practice swim to feel the water and swim part of the route done âś…

Tomorrow bike check in! And taking it easy the whole day and ofcourse, the race prep wouldn’t be complete without the carb loading.

DAY 3: It’s the real countdown to Ironman! and I have arrived at Muskoka. Self-talk should always be positive. We’re in high spirits! We spent the drive recalling how we both decided to do this challenge and how we spent the past few months training together. We’ve packed our bikes, our gear, hydration and nutrition. Waiting on our friends and to arrive tomorrow.

DAY 8: Locking in a Canada Day 5K for Canada Day 🇨🇦
Temperature: 29C feels like 36C, and add 10C for the run factor! Too hot. I have Egyptian blood but I can’t handle this heat.
