Blues for the Red Door is a star-studded musical revue, featuring some of Canada’s finest talents from the Jazz and Blues community, performing in support of the Red Door Family Shelter. The Red Door provides services for families and individuals who need safe and supportive emergency shelter. It is one of the largest family shelters in the city of Toronto, supporting over 500 families every year.

At Blues for the Red Door, our mandate is to raise funds for and awareness of the shelter and the women and children who need our help. It is my hope that you will be as moved as we are to see the importance of the cause. Come to the show, donate if you can't make it, or have your organization advertise with or sponsor us.

James Stager leads a busy career as a trombonist, pianist, and educator in Toronto and is frequently heard in concert halls, festivals, and nightclubs in a wide variety of musical settings including symphony orchestras (Toronto Philharmonia), musical theatre (Shaw Festival, Soulpepper Theatre), world music (Moda Eterna, Caché), and jazz groups (Big Rude Jake, Red Hot Ramble). Jamie's performing career has taken him to festivals and concert venues throughout North America and Europe.

Headliner: Tyler Yarema

Juno Award winner, Tyler Yarema is an award-winning piano player, singer, and composer. He has played on over fifty albums ranging in genres from blues and jazz to reggae and pop. Tyler also holds an enormously successful twenty-two-year house gig at the world-famous Reservoir Lounge in downtown Toronto. In June, 2021 Tyler became the newest member of the Downchild Blues Band.
