You don’t want to miss the May 14th show!!!! Preston Pablo is one of Canada’s most streamed pop artists of his generation, amassing over 799 million global streams to date. The 2023 JUNO Award winner for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, he has since earned 2025 JUNO nominations for Pop Album of the Year and the fan-voted TikTok JUNO Award. His quadruple platinum breakout single “Flowers Need Rain” reached #1 at Adult/Pop radio and became the most Shazamed song of Summer 2022 in Canada, while follow-up single “Dance Alone” hit Top 10 across all three Canadian radio!

Jessia is a Canadian pop artist whose raw honesty and relatable storytelling have quickly set her apart in the modern music scene. She first captured global attention when her song “I’m Not Pretty” went viral on TikTok, resonating with millions for its candid take on self-image and insecurity. What began as a spontaneous, emotionally driven post turned into a breakout moment, launching her from an emerging voice into a widely recognized artist almost overnight. Since then, Jessia has amassed over 350 million streams across platforms, a testament to the deep connection her music creates with listeners around the world.

Mallory Johnson is a 4x ECMA winner, 4x CCMA nominee, and one of the most compelling voices in Canadian alt-country. This genre-bending artist, who has amassed over 1 million streams across her catalogue, demonstrates a captivating fusion of dark Americana with her Celtic/folk roots – a sound that takes centre stage on her newly released sophomore album over the party. Produced by Andrew Petroff (Sheryl Crow, Madeline Edwards, Meg McRee), the project showcases her evolution as a songwriter unafraid to confront emotional complexity and creative risk. With a #1 charting position on iTunes Singer/Songwriter albums, five 2026 ECMA nominations, and a recent win for 2025 MusicNL’s Country Artist of the Year, over the party continues to prove that Mallory isn’t just an artist to watch – she’s one to sit with and truly hear.

And, as always, surprise guests!! 😉 Get your tickets at the link in bio!

Thank you, & Robyn Stewart, the Jurors, Amanda Power for submitting me, & my FCaTT community for making this possible. It was an honour to share this category with Mercedes Caxaj, Diana Cerovich, Kathleen Reid, and Rachel Weldon (debaser), and especially meaningful to receive this award from WIMC founder, Sam Slattery, and my friend/former CMRRA colleague, CARAS VP, Ingrid Crozier.

People ask how I ended up presenting live music —how I knew I could create and sustain Four Chords and the Truth. The short answer is: my Mom.

I grew up in a rural Nova Scotia. If our community needed a fire truck — or something to bring the us together — my mom would put on a concert. She’d line up door prizes from the local stores, invite local talent to perform, gather volunteers, and she and the other women would feed everybody. She often said she was “just” a member of the Ladies Auxiliary; but looking back, I see that she was: a live event producer, a promoter, a sponsorship manager, a talent buyer, Craft Services….she was in the music business.

So when they called my name last Thursday, I accepted this for her and all of the women in live music in tiny and big towns who in their way, led the way - whether paid, unpaid, underpaid — who showed up anyway, for community, and in doing so, showed so many of us - how we could do it too.

To my current and past event partners — TikTok, CMRRA, SOCAN, The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Herradura Tequila), Blues & Roots Radio, Sondra Gold, 1 Hotel, Songwriters Association of Canada, Pizzeria Libretto and venue partners, TD Music Hall and the Dakota Tavern, thank you for your partnership and for respecting my curatorial independence. To my current, , and previous official charity partners, thank you for helping us serve.

To my team, incl. Erin Whitty and photographer Mike Highfield, our incredible songwriter alumni, my family, and our loyal fans — FCATTERS — there is no Four Chords without you.

See you at TD Music Hall on May 14th for the next show!
