Committee Positions Open - East York Canada Day 2026.
Since 2019, the East York Canada Day Festival Committee has worked to build a memorable Canada Day celebration evidenced by our growing attendance. We are very proud of the committee's effort and all the support from our community.
Most of our current board/committee members will be retiring from planning future events.
If the Festival is to continue, we need our community to step in and run the show.
2026 will mark the Parade's 70th year. A long-standing tradition that so many of us enjoy.
Of course we will offer advise and mentor all new committee members.
All positions are volunteer based and carry a 1 year term.
Chair: Lead meetings, manage files, coordinate with committees, permits, insurance, grant and coordinate with the City of Toronto.
Vice Chair: Perform as acting Chair if needed.
Treasurer: Banking, financial records, monthly reporting payments, budget and income tax filing.
Secretary: Minutes, Agenda
Vendor Coordinator: Update vendor application, sign up vendors, create and set vendor layout.
Volunteer Coordinator: Create and advertised volunteer sign-up online, provide instructions, organize volunteer rest area.
Main Stage Coordinator: Create main stage schedule, book entertainers, set up green room.
Broader Park Activities Coordinator: Source and order rentals, coordinate set up and volunteers.
Parade Coordinator: Update application, source and book parade content, coordinate with police and TTC.
Fundraising: Assist with Grant application,k source sponsors, ensure deliverables are met.
Promotions: Social media and website promotions - 3 months out.
