The Sunset Shuffle has been a Longboat tradition for many years, but it’s time to say goodbye.

Lynn Bourque of The Runners Shop will be serving as Race Director for the Sunset Shuffle in 2024, and going forward the race will be managed under the umbrella of The Runners Shop.

Lynn is no stranger to our community, having been a Longboat member for many years and previously serving as Race Director for both the Island Run and the Sunset Shuffle.

We are excited about this transition and believe it will ensure the continued success of the Sunset Shuffle under Lynn’s capable leadership.

On behalf of the Longboat Roadrunners Executive and Race Committees, please be advised that this year's Longboat Toronto Island Race has been cancelled. This was due to a combination of factors, including the limitation on size of field due to current COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to hosting our 40th Anniversary event in 2022.

Thank you all for your past involvement and we look forward to working with you to make the 2022 edition of the Toronto Island Race the best ever!

Due to the rapidly evolving situation regarding COVID-19, we, unfortunately, have made the difficult decision to cancel both the 2020 Sunset Shuffle and the Longboat Toronto Island Race.

Our executive board, with input and support from the race committee, has continued to follow the recommendations from public health officials, and ultimately, we need to do our part to help keep our participants, volunteers, and the community safe.

This year would have been the 40th anniversary running of the Island Race.
We would like to thank everyone for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at one of our events next year.
