Finally, this event would not be complete without a mention of our DJ, DJ Steve Stone! Please join us on Thursday, June 26 for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival 2025!

Born and raised in Toronto, Steve is the creator of TheDjLab, a YouTube channel dedicated to DJ culture, creative mixing, and music discovery. With over 17 years of content and more than 8 million views, TheDjLab has earned a loyal global audience. This year marks Steve’s 10th consecutive year performing at the festival — a milestone that reflects his lasting connection to the event and continued passion for sharing music with the community.

Announcing our final artist for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sankofa Square, Toronto - Ballet Folklorico Puro Mexico !

Ballet Folklorico Puro Mexico is a non-for-profit Mexican dance company founded in May 2003 that works tirelessly to promote Mexican folklore in Ontario. The organization keeps striving to promote Mexican cultural diversity in Canada by creating a space in which Mexican immigrants, as well as Canadian-born Mexicans, can reconnect with their roots. They have participated in various events within and around Toronto including, Hispanic Fiesta at Mel Lastman Square, Mississauga Latin Fest, and the CNE International Stage. Puro Mexico was selectedto be a part of the "Ontario Celebration Zone" – 38 days of the best of Ontario during the Toronto 2015 PanAm games, hosted at the Harbourfront Centre Grounds as well as "Panamania" at the Burlington Royal Botanical Gardens.

Announcing our next artist for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sankofa Square - Academy of Serbian Folk Dancing Association!

The Academy of Serbian Folk Dancing Association promotes and fosters traditional dances and music of Serbia and related performing arts within Canadian Multiculturalism.
There are over four hundred and fifty participants divided into seven ensembles and one folk band. They have two representative ensembles at high school/university levels as well as their recreational ensemble, which has no age limit. The Academy’s Music director is Mr. Dusan Suvajac;and the Academy’s Artistic Director is Mr. Miroslav Bata Marcetic. When they travel abroad, they proudly represent Canada; when at home, they proudly bring theSerbian flavour into the fine multicultural character of Canada. For that, they are known as: the “Pride of Canada – Soul of Serbia”.
We are truly honoured and delighted to have feature their work as part of this festival!

The Yavir School of Ukrainian Dance is based in Toronto, Ontario and is a testament to the enduring legacy of Ukrainian immigrants who came to Canada in search of a better life. Through their passion and dedication to preserving the culture and heritage of their ancestors, this dance group has become an important part of the Ukrainian-Canadian community since 1962. With their vibrant costumes, intricate choreography, and joyful music,they bring the traditions of Ukraine to life and showcase the beauty of this rich cultural heritage. The Yavir School of Ukrainian Dance gratefully acknowledges the support of St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church and is honoured by the artistic direction of Krista Samborsky.

Announcing our next artist for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sankofa Square- the Hawaiian Pacific Magic Dance Company!

The Hawaiian Pacific Dance Company Represents The Polynesian Community Of Toronto, Canada. The group was formed in 1982 with five young dancers. It now has over 200 talented young artists who perform locally, nationally and internationally. Their Objectives Are To Spread The ALOHA Spirit And Enhance The Understanding Of The Polynesian Culture As Expressed Through Traditional Music And Dance As An Art Form. The Group's Repertoire Is Diverse, Representing The People Of The South Pacific, Which Included The Ancient Hawaiian Hula, The Magical Poi Dances Of New Zealand, The Exciting And Pulsating Tahitian Otea, And The Authentic Dances Of Fiji And Samoa.

Introducing our next artists for Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival 2025- Huairapungo Ecuadorian Ethnocultural Group of Ontario (HUAIRAPUNGO GEEO IN)

The Ecuadorian Ethnocultural Group HUAIRAPUNGO of Ontario was created in July 1991 with the aim of maintaining and promoting Ecuadorian cultural and artistic roots. HUAIRAPUNGO is a Quechua word that means "Gate of the Wind".

We truly look forward to the unique performances of tradition they will bring to the stage on Thursday, June 26, at Sankofa Square! Please join us for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival 2025! Free event and all are welcome

Introducing our next artists for Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival 2025- Tonatiuh Mexican Folklore Ensemble!

The Folkloric group Tonatiuh was founded on October 2001 by Luz Adriana Castillo a graduate from the National School of Folkloric Dance in Mexico City. The group offers classes for in performance traditions rooted in Mexican folklore and several different Mexican dance traditions, and performs in various events across the GTA.

We look forward to their vibrant performances! Please join us on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Sankofa Square for the festival! This is a free event and all are welcome.

Announcing our next artist for the Canadian Multiculturalism Day Festival 2025 at Sankofa Square- Dilan Dance Company !

Dilan Dance Company was founded in 2008 by Fethi Karakecili dance and music researcher and choreographer. Karakecili moved to Canada from Turkey where he taught at the University and performed Kurdish, Turkish and European folk dances.
The company focuses on researching and performing Kurdish, Turkish and other Middle Eastern traditional dance and music. Their vision is to transform traditional choreography into a more contemporary, Western dance understanding. They have performed at several events throughout Canada and beyond! The company has also created two full length Kurdish ballets, celebrated for being the world's first Kurdish ballets.
