That’s a wrap on the season!!

Labour Day at Cherry Beach reminded us of what summer should feel like, from the sunsets to the music, to the faces who kept showing up, dancing and cherishing the place with us ❤️

This season wasn’t perfect, but the energy and the community were amazing, and we’re grateful for every Sunday and every one of you.

Thank you for making it unmissable. Rest up, stay close.

One last day by the lake. Our most epic of the summer. The forecast is glorious. From afternoon sunshine into sunset and the stars.

On the decks isdub, house and techno.

Bring a picnic, bring your lover, bring your dog (only nice dogs), a comfy sweater and your dancing feet.

Beach Bar 19+ and food vendors onsite.

To my community,

On July 26 at Cherry Beach, I mishandled an interaction with a guest about Palestinian expression.

The Palestinian people, the Free Palestine movement and the right to self-determination have my unequivocal support. This is what I believe. My actions did not back that up.

Palestinians and expressions of Palestinian identity and solidarity are welcome, loved and supported. Our community, and especially the q***r community, has a long history of solidarity with struggles for freedom, self-determination and human rights. Personal expression belongs to the people who come to our parties.

I understand why that caused harm and made some people feel unfairly treated.

We’ve revised our event policy based on what we learned from this experience. It gives us clearer guidance for personal expression and for handling conflict when it happens. You can read it here: promisecherrybeach.com/new-page. If you are attending and have a concern, you can bring it to our Vibe team or any staff. We will work with you to address it with care.

There is still work to do, and it will involve further community input.

I’m especially thankful for the suggestion to read Sarah Schulman’s "Conflict Is Not Abuse". That book has changed the way I think about conflict, accountability and what we do when we hurt one another.

I believe solidarity matters. I also believe how we deal with conflict matters.

I have not had the chance to apologize personally to the person I argued with that day. I would like to, if they are open to it. If anyone can help make that connection, I would appreciate it.

Cherry Beach is for everyone.

This week we’re joined by Ozmozis , who’ve spent more than a decade cultivating Toronto’s progressive underground, patient, hypnotic, journey-driven music.

DIMUTH K 🇱🇰🇨🇦 Dimuth K
Genre: Progressive House / Melodic House & Techno

Originally from Sri Lanka and now based in Canada, Dimuth K has become known for his deep, driving sound and the energy he brings to every dancefloor.

A regular at some of Canada’s top venues, including Coda, Stereo Montreal, and History Toronto, Dimuth has shared the stage with artists like Sasha, Eric Prydz, and Danny Tenaglia. His sets balance emotion and intensity, taking listeners on a journey from start to finish.

As a producer, his music has been released on respected labels including Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, and Consequence of Society, earning support from some of the biggest names in progressive electronic music.

Whether he’s in the studio or behind the decks, Dimuth K is all about creating memorable moments through music.

OZ 🇨🇦 Oz Akgun

Genre: Progressive House / Melodic House & Techno

For Oz Akgun, it all started with a love for music and dance at a young age. Influenced by the psychedelic and progressive rock of the ‘70s, and later by the trance and progressive sounds of the early ‘90s, he developed a style that’s deeply rooted in melodic, emotional electronic music.

Over the past decade, Oz has become a driving force in Toronto’s electronic music scene through Ozmozis, bringing together DJs and producers from around the world and helping grow the city’s underground community.
Along the way, he’s shared the stage with artists including John Digweed, Rodriguez Jr., Patrice Baumel, Roy Rosenfeld, Simon Doty, Tim Engelhardt, Arodes, Eagles & Butterflies, Khen, and many more.

As both a DJ and producer, Oz continues to evolve his sound while working on original music of his own.
