Stu Sells Announces:

Moving of the Stu Sells U20 Event to Oakville
Cancellation the Stu Sells Port Elgin Event 2025

We are delighted that the Oakville Curling Club has agreed to host the Stu Sells U20 event over the Thanksgiving weekend in combination with the Stu Sells U 18 event. You can still register on stucurls.com and payments can be sent to: [email protected]

Exciting this year again that this event will count for TTRS Points and the winners will also get an automatic complimentary entry into the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard in 2026.

It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2025 Stu Sells Port Elgin curling event. Our partnership with the community of Port Elgin has been a meaningful one over the years, and we are truly saddened that we are unable to bring the event to life this season. The club and town of Port Elgin have worked tirelessly over the years and the loss of the event is unfortunate.

As the landscape of amateur sports continues to shift, it's becoming increasingly clear that many events are facing growing challenges in terms of funding and sustainability. As builders and advocates of the sport, we believe it's time for a collective conversation: we need stronger coordination between event organizers, government agencies, and supporters of curling to ensure the long-term health of these important events. You can’t have a Top Tier without a solid base – community curling club’s bonspiels is this base.

The Stu Sells Realty Team and I will take this time to regroup and look for solutions to help the grass roots of curling. Our commitment to curling remains as strong as ever, and we continue to proudly sponsor the Stu Sells Series and other events across the country.

I remain a passionate advocate for this great sport and will continue working tirelessly to support its growth and success.

Curlers! We are SO excited for the 2023-24 curling season, and we can't wait to welcome you to our events in Ontario and Nova Scotia this upcoming season.

Thank you to all of the teams that have registered to date. Our events are filling quickly, some of which are nearly at capacity. If you intend to play in any of our Stu Series events, we kindly ask that you register as soon as possible so that your team doesn't miss out on the great curling!

What a great weekend at the Barrie Curling Club!

Four days of outstanding U21 and U18 curling has given us four great Stu Sells 2022 champions. Congratulations to:

- Stu Sells Junior Tankard Women's Champions - Team Deschenes
- Stu Sells Junior Tankard Men's Champions - Team King
- Stu Sells U18 Tankard Women's Champions - Team Ideson
- Stu Sells U18 Tankard Men's Champions - Team Stratton

We recognize their accomplishments and know we will see them again in the future with our "pay it forward" prizes including Stu Sells Tankard and Junior Tankard event entries in 2023.

They will also benefit from our partnership with the Brokerlink OVCA SuperSpiel as qualifying spots are now guaranteed for them in this year's event, November 4-6 in Ottawa.

We also recognize junior women's teams Zemmelink, Cave and Croisier and men's teams, Rooney, Dobson and Niepage who will also gain entries to this year's SuperSpiel event along with our U18 Champions, Ideson and Stratton. All of these entries supported by additional funding from our amazing sponsor, Stu Sankey and the Stu Sells team.

Special thanks to teams Croisier and Deschenes who will help to support additional teams to go to SuperSpiel as they had already been provided direct entries. We will announce those teams later once their invitations are accepted.

Each team participating also earned valuable CurlOn Trillium Series points for each round-robin win and additional points for those teams making the playoffs.

We can't thank enough our host club partner, the Barrie Curling Club, its volunteers led by Club President, Renee Dadswell and Committee Chair, Al McKenna and, of course, the staff led by manager Melanie Hughes, the ice making team of Mort, Hermann, Jennifer, Liam and Montana and the catering team of Jessica and Luke at TCB Catering.

41 teams, 4 days, 17 draws and 112 games and a fantastic opening ceremonies with piper Robert...you were awesome!

Thank you to all the teams that participated this year. We wish you all much success in the season ahead and hope to see you again at a 2023 Stu Sells Series event. Stay tuned for future date and host site announcements for the 2023-24 season.
