Congratulations to directors Piratá Waurá and Heloisa Passos, and the entire team of REPLIKKA, on receiving the Best International Short Film Award at Hot Docs 2026, sponsored by TVO Docs!

Brazil Film Fest Toronto proudly celebrates this powerful and deeply meaningful work, created with filmmakers from the Ulupuwene village. The film takes us into the heart of the Wauja people — their memory, resilience, and ongoing fight to preserve the sacred Kamukuwaka cave.

We are thrilled to see REPLIKKA receive this important recognition in Toronto, making the film eligible for consideration for the Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film. 🎬✨

A special thank you to the incredible filmmakers Isadora Canela, Hugo Haddad, and Mini Kerti, and to our moderator Melanie Nepinak Hadley, for sharing such thoughtful insights into their creative journeys and processes.
