shoptheQueensway.com BIA is a business association whose mandate is to promote, and stimulate local business. Aside from business promotion, marketing and branding the businesses along The Queensway, we are working towards streetscape improvements, park improvements, and bringing a sense of community back to this underserved area. Since being established but a year ago, the shoptheQueensway.com ha
s accomplished the following as a part of their mandate:
- Created a BIA website
- Organized an Annual Festival on The Queensway titled Celebrate The Queensway
- Worked with the City to develop short term streetscape improvements
- Is working with local businesses to develop a long-term streetscape plan
- Made a donation to the ‘Friends of Queensway Park’ for park improvements
- Organized a Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Park for the holidays
- Began the 2013 BIA Expansion Plan, which includes Royal York Road to Park Lawn Road
The BIA’s board is incredibly dedicated, and would like to add the 2013 Celebrate The Queensway Mural to their list of accomplishments.
