Meet B*W Event Staff at CanSPEP 2026!

B*W Event Staff is excited to be part of the CanSPEP Conference, taking place June 22–24 in Regina.

It’s a special milestone year, celebrating 30 years of bringing event professionals together to connect, learn, and grow within the industry.

Representing B*W on site will be Sheila Wong, CEM, DES and Christian Bordon. Christian will be welcoming delegates at registration, kicking things off with a friendly B*W hello, while Sheila will be connecting with peers throughout the conference and engaging with fellow industry professionals.

Last Friday, I had the privilege of attending the convocation for the Class of 2026 at Centennial College—and it was an especially meaningful one.

Christian was recognized with the Alumnus Distinction Award, an honor typically reserved for graduates years down the road… yet he received it just three years after graduating. That alone says so much.

What makes Christian truly distinguished isn’t just what he’s achieved, but how he shows up.

He saw a gap in the events industry and created EVENTual Fridays, a platform to support fellow alumni trying to break into the space. He’s given his time generously—mentoring others the same way he was once mentored, lifting others as he climbs.

Beyond his professional impact, Christian has also been faithful in serving the community—participating in monthly Meal Trains with The Dale Ministries, helping feed and care for those living on the margins in Toronto’s Parkdale neighborhood.

Simply put—he shows up.
He says yes.
He serves with consistency and heart.

And that’s what makes him truly deserving of this recognition.

So proud of you, Christian. It was an honour to celebrate this milestone with you. This is just the beginning. 👏✨

B*W Event Staff will be attending the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM) Conference 2026, taking place June 15–17 at Caesars Windsor.

Representing the team on site will be Sheila Wong and Christian Bordon , who are looking forward to joining industry peers from across Canada for a few days of learning, discussion, and connection within the exhibitions and live events space.

CAEM continues to be an important space for sharing ideas and exploring what’s next for our industry, and we’re looking forward to being part of those conversations once again.

With over 30 years of experience in the events industry, Sheila has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to mentorship and talent development. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals at the early stages of their professional journey, helping them build confidence, gain hands-on experience, and develop the skills needed to succeed in the industry.

Through her leadership at B*W, Sheila has created meaningful opportunities for many newcomers to the events field, taking the time to guide, educate, and support staff both on and off site. Her approach to mentorship is rooted in patience, accessibility, and a genuine investment in people’s growth.

This nomination recognizes the lasting impact she continues to make through her dedication to developing the next generation of event professionals.

We’re thrilled to share that Christian Bordon has once again been nominated by the Canadian Meetings + Events Expo (CMEE) Hall of Fame—this year in not one, but two categories: Industry Volunteer and The Big Idea.

This continued recognition speaks to Christian’s ongoing commitment to the meetings and events industry and the meaningful contributions he continues to make through his work and volunteer involvement.

From his journey as an international student to becoming an active contributor within our community, Christian’s growth has been shaped by dedication, learning, and a strong passion for giving back. Through his involvement with B*W International Event Staff, MPI Toronto Chapter, and various industry events, he continues to show up, support, and make an impact.

In October 2025, B*W Event Staffing was honoured to support “An Evening with President L**h Wałęsa” through AP EVENT SERVICES, providing our B*W Registration Agents and B*W Ushers across all three Canadian events within one week:

This North American lecture tour featured Nobel Peace Prize winner and former Polish President, L**h Wałęsa, who shared firsthand stories on leadership, democracy, and resilience as the leader of the Solidarity movement.

We were grateful that President Wałęsa kindly took the time to offer a photo with our on-site staff—an appreciated and memorable moment for the team.
