Now in its 6th year, the Lab is a hands-on development program supporting BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, women, and underrepresented Canadian genre filmmakers with feature films or web/TV series that are ready to move toward production.

Over three intensive days, selected filmmakers work directly with industry professionals to strengthen their production-ready projects, sharpen their pitches, receive industry feedback, and make connections that can help take their projects from development into production.

⚡ Every project selected for the 2026 Horror Development Lab will also receive over $11,000 in in-kind services from companies including Sunbelt Rentals, Scriptation, Act Write Here and My Air Bridge.

Since 2021, the Horror Development Lab has supported 61 projects — including alumni such as the award-winning FOREIGNER (dir. Ava Maria Safai), distributed by Raven Banner Entertainment.
