The Taber and District Sports Hall of Fame was extremely excited to have two individuals being honoured in 2023. Devin Setoguchi, a professional hockey player who donned jerseys for the San Jose Sharks as well as four other NHL teams, and who faithfully returns home each summer to conduct the Verset Hockey School.
And of course Joe Orban, a decades long builder, who coached, promoted, supported, and served hockey, baseball and golf.

2019 served up TWO Inductees! Brandi Merritt - a Taekwondo World Champion many times over and Del Cleland - who coached High School Volleyball for 34 years earning medals at numerous provincial competitions.

The first ever DOUBLE inductee - Dale Tillman as both an Athlete and Builder! His athletic prowess began in Hayes. AB and concluded with Team Canada, competing all over the world. Once his competitive career concluded, he set his sites on developing baseball in Alberta.

After a 3 year hiatus, we were excited and honored to have TWO inductees in 2012. The first - Mr Bob Fettig - as a Builder. Bob spent over 30 years pounding the floors calling the game of Basketball. Within a few short years, he advanced from calling high school games to Canadian College and University competitions.

Our second presentation was to the Bantam AA Jets Baseball Team who claimed fame to capturing the Gold medal at the 2004 Western Canadian Baseball Championships.

Saturday night we celebrated the induction of the Taber Moose Bantam Baseball team that captured the Western Canadian Championships in 1970, into the Sport Hall of Fame. A superb time was had by all reminiscing about events 55 years ago, who played what positions, who hit the home runs, who got caught in the rhubarb patch! Congratulations 🎉 to these fine gentlemen who brought home the gold medal. 🥇
