At Music on the Hill, we're excited to shine a spotlight on one of our incredibly talented artists, Christina Googoo!

Christina loves collaborating with fellow musicians, and she had an absolute blast working with the talented crew behind The Foundation - Cape Breton on this beautiful rendition of Lady Gaga's Always Remember Us This Way.

The Foundation is a unique Cape Breton music project made up of accomplished local musicians Les Huffman, Chris Livingstone, Carmen Giorno, John McPherson, and Jen MacDonald. Rather than performing live gigs, the group focuses on creating high-quality video productions featuring guest vocalists from across our island and beyond.

Their mission is simple but powerful: to support local artists, foster collaboration, and create professional-quality content that showcases the incredible musical talent found right here in Cape Breton. Through their YouTube and Facebook productions, The Foundation continues to build connections within the music community while giving artists a platform to share their voices.

We're grateful for projects like The Foundation that invest their time, talent, and creativity into helping Cape Breton musicians shine. If you enjoy this performance, be sure to check out and subscribe to their YouTube channel to discover more incredible collaborations and support local music:

Take a few minutes to enjoy this wonderful collaboration and see what happens when great musicians come together to create something special.

This win is a testament to the incredible talent right here in our backyard. Proud Moment for Music on the Hill & 7GI Society!

We’re beaming with pride as our very own Christina Googoo and The Marshal Brothers — talented artists from the Mi’kmaq Artist Emergence Program (MAEP) — take part in the premiere of “No Way I’ll Come Down”, the MAEP Generation 1 documentary by Cape Breton’s own Matthew Ingraham.

📅 November 21st
📍 Alderney Landing, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

This documentary shines a light on the journeys of the incredible first-generation MAEP artists — their growth, their creativity, and their voices. We at Music on the Hill are thrilled to attend and cheer on our artists as they share the stage and screen with their MAEP brothers and sisters.

A big tip of the hat to Bear River Councillor Carol Ann Potter, the visionary behind MAEP, and Andree Gracie (Grey Sea Artist & Event Management) and her team for pulling it all together. Her passion for supporting Mi’kmaq artists and helping them build sustainable careers continues to inspire us all.

✨ Congratulations to everyone involved — this is only the beginning! ✨
