When we were putting together the SummerFEST 2026 lineup, we knew we needed a Saturday night headliner who could absolutely command the stage. Enter Riley Taylor.

Raised just down the road in Burton, New Brunswick, Riley writes the kind of honest country songs that stay with you long after the stadium lights go down. Growing up in a military family shaped his perspective, grounding his music in real life, hard lessons, and genuine storytelling.

He’s bringing some massive momentum to the 8th Hussars Sports Centre on Saturday, July 4th. His debut album, Story To Tell, has already racked up over 9 million streams and scored a 2025 CCMA nomination for Alternative Country Album of the Year. Fresh off launching his own headlining Canadian tour this past April, he knows exactly how to connect with a crowd, whether he’s playing a packed room in Nashville or a festival stage back home.

Riley is an artist who lets the music do the talking, and trust us, you’ll want to be in the room to hear it.

Happy Pride Month, Sussex! 🏳️‍🌈

As we get closer to SummerFEST 2026, we wanted to take a second to talk about what this festival is really about. At its heart, music is a universal language. It’s one of those rare things that can bring people from all walks of life together for a shared experience, and that’s exactly what we want for our community.

Our volunteer committee is made up of your neighbours—including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community—and we are all working hard to make sure SummerFEST feels like a place where everyone belongs. Whether you’re coming out for the free family night at Burton Park or the ticketed show at the 8th Hussars, know that you are welcome just as you are.

We’re proud to build a festival that reflects the diversity of Sussex and beyond. We can’t wait to see you all next month!

It’s finally time to share what we’ve been working on for SummerFEST 2026! We’re keeping the focus right here at home this year with a weekend dedicated to the incredible musical talent we have right here in New Brunswick.

Mark your calendars for July 3rd and 4th—the weekend right after Canada Day.

Friday, July 3rd (Burton Park): We’re kicking things off with a free family night at the Rotary Amphitheatre. It’s going to be a great, low-key evening outdoors featuring the music of the very talented Lily Alexander.

Saturday, July 4th (8th Hussars Sports Centre): Saturday is our big ticketed show, and the lineup is a heavy hitter for local music fans:

🎸 Riley Taylor: Our headliner grew up just up the road in Burton. He’s coming back home after a massive year where his music surpassed 9 million streams and earned him a 2025 CCMA nomination

🎤 Joan Kennedy: You can’t talk about New Brunswick music without mentioning Joan. She’s a member of our provincial Music Hall of Fame and a multi-award winner with a career spanning over three decades.

🎻 The Big Wind Show Band: These folks are the heart of the local scene Terry has been a staple in the East Coast music community for years, and the full band always brings incredible energy to the stage.

🎸 Ethan Paquet: Ethan will be opening the night, accompanied by the Big Wind band. He even recorded a CD with Terry called Passing it On, so they’ve got a great connection on stage

We’ll be sharing more about each of these acts as we get closer to the festival. As a volunteer-run non-profit, our mission is to keep high-quality entertainment accessible and affordable for all our neighbours.

Beware of ticket scams! Whenever the words "ticket" or "admission" appear in our posts we see an influx of bot accounts offering tickets "for sale" via private message. Unless you personally know the person and can verify in person we do not recommend that you pursue.

This is a common scam that often results in patrons showing up at the door with counterfeit or duplicate tickets that can't be used for admission. While we do our best to keep these comments off of our posts, we can't always catch them all immediate,y so we encourage you to stay vigilant in today's evolving online world.

🎶 It’s concert day in Sussex!

The stage is ready at the 8th Hussars Sports Centre, and tonight we’re bringing the music, the energy, and the community spirit to wrap up SummerFEST in style.

🎤 Jacob Chevarie opens the night with a mix of east coast rock and country you can’t help but move to.

🎸 Darren McGinnis follows with a full band and a set that’s been making waves from Nashville to New Brunswick.
