Many of you may know that Stella’s Circle was named in honour of our founder, Dr. Stella Burry— but did you know she had a passion for ceramic teacups? ☕️

In honour of her 129th birthday yesterday, some of our staff gathered to celebrate her life and achievements, including watching a short film about her life and the early days of the Naomi House and Emmanuel Centre. And in order to properly celebrate Dr. Burry, plenty of loose leaf tea was involved 🍃

We’re always delighted to be activating the space here at 142, whether through internal celebrations, cocktail receptions, staff workshops, and more. We’re so excited to see what the rest of the year will bring 💫

Earlier this month, was grateful to work with the Newfoundland and Labrador Anti-Poverty Coalition to host a roundtable discussion at on 142 Military Road 🌼

This Coalition is committed to poverty reduction across Newfoundland and Labrador. Its members consist of community organizations that work across various areas around the province, focused on improving access to housing, childcare, and food, as well as advancing social and economic justice. We’re thankful for the invaluable knowledge and insights that were shared throughout the discussions 💫
