🌷THANK YOU🌷
We tried, I mean really tried to get a great family photo in the tulips this season... but between Bart being in the field, being open to the public, and our children being cooperative, it's been a struggle. This picture honestly depicts us better than any staged picture... so I went with it!
THANK YOU -- Thank you for a wonderful second Tulip Fest season! It's been a wild spring. So much cold and rain which made it impossible to get into the fields and do anything.... then rushing around trying to groom the field and get it up to our standards. Then unexpectedly we had to deal with our first exposure of disease in the tulips (mass plantings are very prone to disease and had been lucky last year not to have to deal with it). Looking back we wonder how it all came together, but it did... and the tulips did not disappoint with their vibrant colours and joyous disposition. We added quite a few new varieties and it was so exciting as they bloomed to reveal what they looked like off the pages of a catalogue.
Thank you to those that braved the elements, it sure was a cold and windy start. Thank you to those who enjoyed our field, who lovingly picked their favourites to take home. Thank you to our workers, who learnt fast how to run the tent and greeted visitors with a smile despite whatever condition was currently taking place. Thank you to the market participants and professional photographers. Thank you to our loyal attendees, who don't miss an event, and some even make return visits during the same season. Without all of you, this field of dreams would not be possible. Being in a rural area, we don't draw crowds like those close to the cities, so each and every one of you impact our family farm and the potential for future events... so THANK YOU!
