Thank you to our tournament volunteers, helping with tasks such as cooking/serving food in the canteen, scorekeeping, drawing beautiful posters, recording the games live, selling 50/50 tickets/pins and staying after the final games to pick up trash and help clean up.
Without our volunteers this tournament WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE.

Finally, thank you to our referees for officiating the games and bringing the whole tournament together.
It’s been amazing having the privilege to host a basketball tournament these past 4 years, especially in the community I grew up in. Growing up, I had the opportunity of playing in Mi’kmaq tournaments all throughought the province. This helped me become the player and person that I am today and inspires me to continue organizing this tournament for our future generations.
In the last 2 years of this tournament a team made up of all youth were able to make it to the crossovers. Although they did not win they were able to play competitive basketball showcasing the impressive skills they hold, they have amazing potential. We will be doing a disservice to our next generation of hoopers if we don’t continue our tradition of hosting multiple Mi’kmaq basketball tournaments throughout the summer months.
My 1 request for all of our Mi’kmaq hoopers is that we continue to organize and run these tournaments in all of our communities.
I’m incredibly excited to host our 5th Annual Tournament next year and improve it further.
