The Italian Centre Shop once again Partners with The Great Canadian Gran Fondo to promote Cycling and Community Wellness

The Great Canadian Gran Fondo, is thrilled to
announce a renewed partnership with The Italian Centre Shop, once again bringing together two beloved community staples in a shared mission to promote cycling, health, and community wellness.

The Italian Centre Shop, renowned for its authentic Italian groceries and dedication to community values, will serve as an official grocery sponsor for The Great Canadian Gran Fondo. This partnership will enhance the experience for participants and
spectators alike, providing a fusion of Italian culture and culinary delights with the exhilarating world of long-distance cycling.

Highlights of the Partnership Include:

Event Food Options: During the event, the Italian Centre Shop will help supply rest stops along the route, offering cyclists a taste of Italy with authentic refreshments and samples of their finest products. These stations will provide a much-needed boost and a
unique cultural experience for riders.
The Italian Centre Shop will also provide all post- race food in the athlete’s village.

Community Engagement Initiatives: Both organizations will collaborate on various community engagement initiatives, including rides, workshops on cycling, and local events aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Pasta Party: The Italian Centre Shop will be the provider and partner of the Saturday “Pasta Party provided by The Italian Centre Shop”. A great way for athletes to carbo load prior to the big race day.

Frame: Clean and inspect frame, dropouts and fork for fatigue or damage.
Wheels: Secure axle nuts/or skewers. Adjust front and rear hub bearings, true front and rear wheels both radially and laterally as possible, check/adjust spoke tension as needed. (Spoke replacement extra).
Tires: Flat repair/installation of front and rear tire. (Hub drive E-Bike wheels extra).
Drivetrain: Check and/or adjust derailleur limit screws, cable tension, height and angle of front and rear derailleurs. Align derailleur hanger. (Gear cables and casings extra).
Brakes: Adjust cable tension (make both levers pull the same amount), adjust brake shoe height, angle and “Toe-in” and confirm center orientation on rim. Adjust disc brake caliper to ensure clearance of rotor. Straighten rotor if possible. Pad/rotor bed in process. (Brake bleeds extra, brake cable and casing extra).
General: Check/adjust/tighten; stem, handlebar, seat, controls, seat post, pedals, and crankarms.
Lubricate: Lubricate drivetrain and derailleur pivots
Headset: Check for proper headset bearing adjustment, adjust as needed.
BB/Cranks: Check/adjust bottom bracket. Ensure cranks are tight/adjusted. (Installation extra).
Clean: Complete wash and wipe down of bike, wheels, and components.
Installations: Install of most parts and accessories covered.
(Chain, cassette, brake pads, cables/housing, tires/tubes, grips, handlebars/stems).
