Tournament Guidelines:
The UPAC Hoops For Hope Basketball Tournament will take place at the Hampton School (Ernest Linder/St. Lorenzo Ruiz) on April 18, 2026.
Eligibility:
Master Division (5’9ft and under height)
- Players born in 1991 and older are eligible to participate, provided their height does not exceed 175.26cm. A valid driver's license is required to verify height and age.
- A maximum of 14 players are allowed on each team, and all players must be of Filipino descent.
Inter Company Division
- Players must be legitimate employees of the company they represent and provide recent proof of employment.
- Each team is allowed a maximum of three import players, who must be employed by the company, regardless of nationality.
- A maximum of 14 players are allowed on each team.
Game Format:
* The tournament will follow a single round-robin format, divided into two brackets, guaranteeing each team a minimum of two games.
* To be eligible for the semifinals or championship game, a player must have participated in at least one game during Rounds 1-2.
* In the event of a double tie, the team with the win over the other will advance.
* In the event of a triple tie, a points system will be applied.
* Any player engaging in violent behavior, including throwing punches, will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.
Rules and Regulations:
* Games will consist of four quarters, each lasting eight minutes, with a stop clock during free throws and timeouts. The last quarter will have a full stop clock for the final three minutes.
* Each team will have two timeouts in the first half and three timeouts in the second half, with no carryover.
* Teams will be awarded a penalty or bonus after committing five team fouls.
* Players who commit five personal fouls will be disqualified.
Note: This tournament serves as a fundraising event, with all proceeds donated to our designated recipient.
Awards:
* The champion team will receive a cash prize, trophy, and medals.
* The Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Mythical Five will each receive a trophy.
Please remember that we participate in this tournament for a noble cause. We encourage all players to maintain respect and camaraderie on the court at all times. The prizes are a bonus; the true importance lies in our collective effort to support someone in need. Good luck to all participants. Thank you for your trust and continued support.
Note: All players must sign a waiver before their game time. The committee will provide a hard copy of the waiver on Saturday.
