We’re hiring! ✨ Here’s an overview of the Festival Associate position we’re seeking to fill this summer, & you can learn more about the job listing on our website!

🌙Title: THIRD SHIFT Festival Associate
🌙Pay: $17/hr, full time, contract (35hrs/week)
🌙Location: Uptown Saint John, New Brunswick
🌙Contract timeline: Mid May to end of August 2026
🌙Application deadline: Friday, April 24, 2026, 11:59pm Atlantic
🌙Info session: Wednesday, April 15th, 7-8pm Atlantic over Zoom (registration link below!)

Third Space Gallery is seeking to fill the position of THIRD SHIFT Festival Associate for May 2026. The successful candidate will work closely with staff and volunteers of Third Space Gallery to present THIRD SHIFT, a contemporary Art at Night Festival in Saint John, New Brunswick in August 2026 and will assist with Third Space programming throughout the Spring and Summer months. The successful candidate will work with the current Executive Director at USTATION on Prince William St. in Uptown Saint John from May till August 31st, 2026. This role requires individuals to be available in-person to fulfill their tasks.

✨Say hello to THIRD SHIFT Artist: Maryse Arseneault! ✨

Maryse (she/they) is a multidisciplinary Acadian artist based in Moncton, NB. Adopting forms of slow activism, she confronts memory and psychogeography in relation to our feelings of belonging.

“HEAVY LIFTING / POURQUOI LE TEMPS EST SI LOURD” is a performance piece playing on the myth of Sisyphus. The artist will parade around King Square with balloons attached to a heavy chain, drawing it along their journey. Along the way they will encounter step ladders, which they must climb with the chains to continue their route. 🎈⛓️

✨Welcome our final THIRD WATCH artist Dan Armstrong! ✨

Dan (he/him) is a celluloid based filmmaker, dancing between the borders of fact and fiction. He renders notions and truth through time based medias. “À Mains Nues/With Our Bare Hands” explores the similarities between a painter, a baker and a butcher. The short film, where jazz stands in as narration, is an ode to manual tasks, to the noble work of bare hands.
