Wow. Just another amazing Kids day that was #5 I am so proud of all these little riders and can not thank the crew enough. A huge shout out to Karalyn for running alongside me and and being a big part of this. Still the 2 mom's who help start this. Danielle for doing all the timing and helping on the ground, Justin & Leah, Derek, Ory, Chris, Eric, Mr. Bridgeman, Blake Main all the parents that stepped in Janet Rankin for pictures, Russell Ag Society and every grandparents friend or family member that came and cheered these buckaroos on. Sierra for the winning feathers ðŸŠķ all our sponsors. It turned out to be a great day. Hope to see you all next year. If i didn't listen you please know I am grateful for every person that helps make this possible.

5th Annual Kids Horsin Around - Russell Buckaroos. An event that started with 3 moms looking to have some fun with their kids. It was barrels poles and a few games....it has grown from approx 15 kids to us capping entries at 40 and joining the Russell Ag Society and their Russell Ag Days. It has become the fan favorite. It is a day full of smiles, laughter, stories and a day to allow all levels of riders to get some prizes and have some fun doing something they love. It promotes another generation of cowgirls and cowboys to join in some good old fashioned fun. While letting our littlest buckaroos watch and admire their peers. It was started to bring back some young horse fun to town.

A. Poles
B. Barrels
C. Flag
D. Goats
E. Roping

Eg: Vicki Davidson on Hope age 6 (leadline) in A. B. C. D. E.
Or Derek Davidson on Mack age 10 in D and E only

Saturday August 23rd. Start at 10:00 registration at 9:00a.m. $20.00 a rider (Western attire please)(Helmets Mandatory) There will be a pancake breakfast in a.m. put on by Russell Ag Society $10 for Adults 8 & under $5. Little Kitchen on the Prairies will be serving up food for the day as well.

We will have Flag Race, Goat tie/undecorate, Poles, Barrels and Dummy Roping. (All Timed Events) We will have some ropes kids can share.

We have age categories this year and rules differ per age group! MAX 40 RIDERS.

Order of go will be the same for every event.

1. Lead line
2. 9 & under
3. 16 & under

Ok Rules for each group:
1. Lead Line:
A. barrels will be a smaller pattern
B. Poles will be 4 poles only
C. Flag Race anything goes small pattern
D. Goats undecorate
E. Roping try from ground on foot

2. 9 & under:
A. barrels will be a full pattern
B. Poles will be 6 poles
C. Flag Race no stop may circle
D. Goats undecorate
E. Roping try from ground on foot

3. 16 & under
A. barrels will be full pattern
B. Poles will be 6 poles
C. Flag Race no stopping may circle
D. Goats will tie
E. Roping from horse dummy behind quad

Each event will be 1 try unless we need a tie breaker.

It will be a cost of $20 a day I did not get online registration organized so will sign a waiver and pay day of with cash in the registration tower.

Every rider gets a prize capped at 40 riders
Lead line will receive 1 prize and the following age groups will receive 1st and 2nd prizes in each event along with they all recieve a prize no matter what.

This is a day of fun for all our young riders a day for everyone to come out and cheer on the next generation of riders while they have a little fun. We welcome anyone who would like to come try and have some f

Usually we would say now that the dust settled, but I guess this year it is now that the arena dried up lol.. Wow just absolutely wow, what a wonderful day. Yes it was a mucky mess to start out but that didnt stop these buckaroos and their families! Want to give a big shout out to the Russell Ag Society for hosting this event and for the wonderful facilities...we think it turned out to be a pretty great day. There were lots of smiles, lots of learning, so many supportive hands on deck and every little bit helps. EXTRA THANK YOU TO Our sponsors that made it possible to give a few extra prizes out to our riders. What a great group of up and coming cowboy and cowgirls. This is a day of fun.

4th Annual Kids Horsin Around - Russell Buckaroos. An event that started with 3 moms looking to have some fun with their kids. It is a day full of smiles, laughter, stories and a day to allow all levels of riders to get some prizes and have some fun doing something they love. We are going to follow Horsin' Around in Miniota's lead and for our Buckaroos try and get some feathers for our fastest times. Happy to be part of Russell Ag Days and have some fun on the Sunday. These wonderful feathers are made in Minota by Sierra Priestley âĪïļ it may not be a buckle but a beautiful addition to any saddle or medal shelf for a Buckaroo to be proud of.
