Regina Classic

Regina Classic Regina Classic 5-Pin Bowling Cash Tournament formerly known as the Coca Cola Classic.

HISTORY
The Regina Classic 5-Pin Bowling Cash Tournament originated as the Coca-Cola Classic Tournament in the late 1980’s at Prairie Lanes in Regina and traditionally was held in late March. In the summer of 1994 Prairie Lanes closed and the tournament moved to the Golden Mile Lanes and was held there from 1995-2000. The tournament was halted in 2001 due to a variety of reasons, but mainly due to

the calendar timing and lack of entries, late March was not working. In 2007, new GM of the Golden Mile Bowling Lanes, Rick Schafer, revived the Coca-Cola Classic tournament at the Golden Mile Lanes. The tournament moved up in the bowling schedule to late February, which was made available after the Saskatoon cash tournament ended (formerly KG Open). The name was changed from the Coca-Cola Classic to the Regina Classic in 2013 and continues to grow in popularity and numbers each year with its signature 100% payout! HIGHLIGHTS

The Final Frame: A Farewell to the Regina Classic

Celebrating the Legacy, Cherishing the Memories

With a heavy heart and deep gratitude, we announce that the 2025 Regina Classic marks the final chapter of this storied tournament. After years of unforgettable competition and camaraderie, the time has come to bring the Regina Classic to a close. Unfortunately, there will be no Regina Classic at the Golden Mile Lanes in 2026 and into to the foreseeable future.

This difficult decision to halt the tournament was made after much consideration. Many of the longtime committee members have expressed interest in time away from the tournament and the almost yearlong and increasing commitment the tournament now dictates.

Since its beginnings, the Regina Classic has grown to become one of the premier events in the bowling world, drawing talent from across the country and beyond. We’ve witnessed incredible moments on the lanes — from record-breaking scores to thrilling finishes — and celebrated champions whose names will forever be etched in our history.

But beyond the competition, the Regina Classic has always been about community. It has been a place where lifelong friendships were formed, where the “bowling family” gathered year after year, and where the love for the sport was shared by all who entered the doors. The laughter, the cheers, the spirit — these are the things that made the Regina Classic truly special.

To the bowlers who graced our lanes, thank you for your skill, sportsmanship, and dedication. To our sponsors, volunteers, and staff — your tireless support made every tournament possible. A special thank you to the owners of the Golden Mile Lanes who have offered the centre, charging ZERO lineage year after year and being our title sponsor. This great sponsorship allowed us to offer 100% payout for the past 19 years! And to the fans, both local and from afar, your passion and energy gave the Classic its soul.

While this may be the final frame for the Regina Classic for now, its legacy will continue to inspire, and its memories will live on in the hearts of everyone who has been part of this incredible journey. We are proud of what we have accomplished as a major tournament and the high standard we sought and brought each year showcasing the professional side of 5-pin bowling.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making the Regina Classic what it was. Here’s to the memories — and to the spirit of competitive bowling that will always roll on.
