This is Mbole — a raw and powerful genre born in the streets of cities like Douala and Yaoundé. 🥁
It originally emerged from marginalized youth and was often associated with delinquency, expressed through spontaneous percussion, repetitive rhythms, and chants telling real-life stories.

Today, Mbole has evolved far beyond its origins.
It has gained popularity across all social groups, moving from the streets to clubs, events, and digital platforms. What was once stigmatized is now a unifying sound — celebrated for its authenticity, energy, and deep connection to everyday Cameroonian life. 🔥
