Crushing it! Way to go guys. We love our new door.
We’re wrapping up our Small Business Week client spotlights with two friends who saw a "window" of opportunity and went for it (pun intended!). Meet Christopher and Carter, the co-founders of Atlas Glazing in Prince George! 🪟
Before starting Atlas Glazing, Chris and Carter worked together at another local glass shop. Chris was there for six years, and Carter for about 15, including four years as a shareholder. Over time, they became friends and realized how well they saw eye to eye. With plenty of drive and a goal of building something of their own, they decided to make a go of it.
Today, the Atlas team does it all: cutting glass, fabricating their own aluminum commercial window and door frames, installing and programming automatic door openers, and installing glass in commercial buildings and homes, plus custom glass showers and railings.
Their path to Community Futures was a full circle family moment - with Carter’s dad having worked with CF when he started his own glass shop back in 2008, they decided to reach out to Community Futures for their start-up business loan.
In their own words: ”We wouldn’t have had the means to get the start we have had without CF. In the commercial construction business, overhead is high and payment is slow. The working capital loan we got from CF enabled us to buy product, grow our business, and keep our bills paid." 🙌
And they’ve been busy ever since! Atlas Glazing is coming up on two years in business this November, just hired a full-time employee, and bought their second service vehicle. Next up, Chris and Carter are excited to hire and train more apprentices to build local talent and stability in the glazing trade.
Thanks to Chris and Carter for sharing their incredible small business success story with us!
