We are just 12 days away from the start of the Ribbon 200! We are spotlighting the incredible athletes taking on the Ribbon 200. We asked them a few questions to get to know the humans behind the bibs, what drives them, and why they chose to take on 200 miles on the iconic Bruce Trail.

Meet Kyle Shutten (), he will be taking on the Ribbon 200 this year, and we can’t wait to see him toe the start line!

It’s very hard to replicate the feeling of being out there for multiple days. That’s what I’m after, and I love the look inside myself that experience provides.

SECTION SPOTLIGHT: DUFFERIN HI‑LAND
The Ribbon 200 rolls into one of the most rugged and diverse stretches of the entire Bruce Trail — the Dufferin Hi‑Land.

Think:
🌲 57 km of main trail
🌄 Deep valleys, limestone crevasses, and big escarpment climbs
🌾 High‑ridge farmland views at 1650 ft

Let’s break it down.
For this section of the race, you’ll wind your way from Lavender all the way to Mono Centre, moving through some of the most dramatic terrain on the entire Ribbon route.

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

The Mulmur hills, where the trail opens into high farmland with panoramic views that hit you right in the soul

The Pine River valley is a rugged descent and climb that tests your legs and rewards you with beautiful views.

The Boyne Valley, where you’ll cross the river on a sweeping bridge and climb into rolling hardwood forest

The crevice caves and cliff‑top lookouts of Mono Cliffs — a mix of boardwalks and rock corridors, where you will enter the start of the Caledon Hills.

This section is technical, hilly, exposed, forested, rocky, and absolutely unforgettable. The Dufferin Hi‑Land is where runners settle into the heart of the Ribbon 200.

It's not too late to be part of this epic race! Hit the link to register for the 72km E2E, 100 miler, or 200 miler event!

While we get ready for the big day, we’re spotlighting the incredible athletes taking on the Ribbon 200. We asked them a few questions to get to know the humans behind the bibs, what drives them, and why they chose to take on 200 miles on the iconic Bruce Trail.

Meet Lesley Rasmussen McKee (), who has decided that the Ribbon 200 is the perfect place to make her debut in the world of ultrarunning. Yes, you read that correctly! Her very first ultra will be a 200‑miler, and honestly, that tells you a lot about her, but let’s dive in and learn more!

Meet the 200-Mile Crew!
We’re spotlighting the incredible athletes taking on the Ribbon 200. We asked them a few questions to get to know the humans behind the bibs, what drives them, and why they chose to take on 200 miles on the iconic Bruce Trail.

Introducing Selene Mahone .onee, who just recently took first place female finisher and fourth place overall at the Arizona Monster 300 back in March. If that wasn’t amazing enough, she also smashed the course record by ~ 5 hours! Let’s learn more about what keeps her going!

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙪𝙣?
During the Arizona Monster, I was hallucinating during the night, thinking the cacti were people, so I high-fived one and ended up with an entire branch stuck to my hand. It was then that I learned I was alone and not a single soul was out there.

𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙞𝙙‑𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 40 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙨?
I'm a big potato fan. No matter the version I'm here for it all. Tater tots, hash browns, mashed, fries. They become a HUGE staple. Extra brownie points for the aid stations with pierogies. WE LOVE A GOOD POTATO PIEROGIE. I do not discriminate against the potato clan.

𝘼𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 — 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪?
I have a tendency within the first 10 miles to question my life choices; the race is young and I have so far to go. My body is not fully in the rhythm of running and being fully out there. It takes at least 15-20 miles before my brain registers we're out here for the long haul; SO BUCKLE UP WE'VE GOT MILES TO GO.
