The inaugural Three Blind Mice 50K/25K trail race will take place on Saturday, September 19th. It's going to be great. For the public's information, the race will take place on trails spanning the entire Three Blind Mice trail network. This includes Southern Dancer, Bronco, Rainbow, Neverland, Corral, Narnia, Yellow Brick Road, Dead Horse, Marmot, Ponderosa, Tripod, Jose, Rusty Muffler, Deke, Fred and Slabs. A dark reminder of why groups like Penticton Search and Rescue are needed in communities. Thanks for signing up for our race and showing your support. We will be ready for you in September.

✨ Task Update ✨

PenSAR was tasked around 6:00 PM Friday evening for the rapidly moving fire in the Faulder/Summerland area.

Many PenSAR teams deployed throughout the night to assist with tactical evacuations alongside the RCMP and BC Wildfire.

As the situation continued to develop, mutual aid was requested, and we were joined by members of Princeton GSAR and Oliver/Osoyoos SAR.

Our members spent the entire night out in the community, going door-to-door and assisting with evacuations of Summerland residents.

At 930am a second operation period was tasked out and members that were out throughout the night went home for a much needed break.

Mutual aid crews from surrounding SAR teams including Grand Forks SAR and a Rossland SAR have to assist the response.

We want to send our hearts to everyone in the Summerland community who has been affected by this fire.

If you are in an area under an evacuation order, please leave immediately and follow the directions of emergency personnel.

If you are under an Evacuation Alert, please be ready to go. Have your vehicle packed, your essentials gathered, and be prepared to leave quickly if an order is issued.

Thank you to our incredible mutual aid partners, RCMP, BC Wildfire, Conservation BC, and all of the emergency crews working tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
