As we get ready to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Parrsboro Film Festival (TOMORROW — October 3), we are closing off our committee spotlights with our fearless leader, Lori Lynch, Committee Chair.

When asked to reflect on her fondest memories of the festival, this is what Lori had to say:

"So...what happens when a group of independent film enthusiasts get together and start talking about all the film making talent, right here, on the east coast? Well, I guess you start a Film Festival to celebrate all that talent and bring those amazing films to small town Nova Scotia. For the past fifteen years, the Parrsboro Film Festival has been doing just that, as we gather for one weekend in October to feast on documentaries, short films and feature films and to meet filmmakers in attendance. I feel very privileged to have been part of this festival since the beginning. Here is to 15 more years of extraordinary films and memories.”

We hope to see you at the 15th Anniversary Parrsboro Film Festival: October 3-5, 2025.

And if you’re looking for a reason to come this year, take Barrie’s word for it:

“Parrsboro is the coolest town in Nova Scotia, and the Parrsboro Film Festival is the coolest film festival in Nova Scotia.”

We can’t wait to see you for Opening Night TOMORROW: October 4!
