To provide additional information regarding the borrowing notice for the ice plant project:
The total cost of the ice plant project is approximately $865,000, and approximately $721,000 has been raised to date.
The FCM Community Buildings Retrofit funding is structured as a combined grant and loan package. For this project, the funding includes a $190,000 grant together with a $570,000 loan. The grant portion is tied to the loan and cannot be accessed on its own.
The funds already raised will be used toward the project and repayment of the loan, and any additional fundraising will further support those costs. The borrowing notice is part of the required process to access this funding package.
We would like to recognize and thank the Oxbow Rink Board and our community for the incredible amount of work, support and generosity that has gone into fundraising for this project. Raising approximately $721,000 toward an $865,000 project is a tremendous accomplishment.

A big thank you to all of the volunteers who continue to put so much time and effort into preserving Oxbow’s history and keeping the museum going. And a special thank you to Paul Tweitmeyer for creating the new railway-themed mural — it is a great addition to the museum!

The Ralph Allen Memorial Museum in Oxbow is wrapping up a busy summer, with more than 520 people visiting the museum and a new railway-themed mural now on display.

The museum spent much of the past year completing renovations, including work on its freight shed. According to museum chairperson Tami Scott, the goal was to turn the space into something the community could use.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS
Traffic Sign Theft
The Town has recently become aware that traffic signs have been removed or stolen from various locations within the community.
Traffic signs are in place for the safety of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency responders. Removing, damaging, or tampering with traffic signs is serious and may constitute a criminal offence.
The replacement of stolen signs also comes at a cost to the Town and, ultimately, to local taxpayers. More importantly, a missing stop sign, yield sign, warning sign, or other traffic control device can create a significant safety hazard and increase the risk of an accident.
If you have removed or have possession of a Town traffic sign, please return it to the Town Office immediately.
Residents are asked to report any information regarding the theft, removal, or damage of traffic signs to the Town Office or the RCMP.
Please help us keep our community safe and protect municipal property.
