Le plus grand festival de théâtre d’Ottawa Programming is selected by a lottery, not curators. Lottery aside, anyone is welcome to submit a Bring Your Own Venue show (BYOV) and have equal billing in the Fringe Festival program. The Fringe has returned more than $1.62 million to artists since 1997.

We Cabar-oke’d our hearts out last night! 🎤 Hier soir, on s’est vraiment lâchés au Cabar-oke !

Our drag Cabar-oke electrified the courtyard and Club SAW all night long, and with a record-breaking TWELVE sold out shows yesterday, we were Fringeing the loudest we have all Festival! Today is your LAST chance to soak up all that Fringe-y goodness, so meet us on the festival grounds and show our 62 incredible shows some love! Be sure to stick around, because at 10pm tonight we have our annual AWARD’S NIGHT where we get to celebrate what made this Fringe so special - no ticket required. So come one, come all!

Fringe is in full effect 💪 Le Fringe bat son plein !

Over the past two days, we welcomed CBC’s All in a Day Book Club, saw the kick off and completion of our inaugural 24 Hour Theatre Project, and of course tons of sold out shows and immaculate courtyard vibes! Check out our story (if you’re brave) to see the half-priced, selling fast, and sold out shows for this crazy kooky Saturday!

Au cours des deux derniers jours, nous avons accueilli le club de lecture « All in a Day » de la CBC, assisté au coup d’envoi et à la clôture de notre toute première édition du « 24 Hour Theatre Project », sans oublier, bien sûr, une multitude de spectacles à guichets fermés et une ambiance incroyable dans la cour ! Jetez un œil à notre story (si vous osez) pour découvrir les spectacles à moitié prix, ceux qui partent vite et ceux qui affichent déjà complet pour ce samedi complètement fou et décalé !

Best of Fest serves as a fundraiser for the Fringe, where ticket revenue is split 50/50 between the artists and the Fringe. The RHOZE Garden Sound Café in full bloom! 🪷

The courtyard was alive with music, dancing, and artwork yesterday as Fringe patrons were invited into the RHOZE Garden Sound Café for an utterly incredible evening of shakin’ that thang. As well, playwrights were selected by random draw to participate in our 24 Hour Theatre Project, where new works of theatre will premiere at 9:30pm on Friday (that’s tomorrow!). There’s still 4 more days to soak up some Fringe magic, so if you haven’t paid us a visit yet, or just can’t get enough of the goodness, come on down tonight!

Le RHOZE Garden Sound Café en pleine effervescence ! 🪷

Hier, la cour était animée par la musique, la danse et les œuvres d’art, alors que les spectateurs du Fringe étaient invités au RHOZE Garden Sound Café pour une soirée absolument incroyable où tout le monde s’est déhanché. Par ailleurs, des dramaturges ont été tirés au sort pour participer à notre projet « 24 Hour Theatre Project », dans le cadre duquel de nouvelles pièces de théâtre seront présentées en avant-première vendredi à 21 h 30 (c’est-à-dire demain !). Il reste encore 4 jours pour s’imprégner de la magie du Fringe, alors si vous ne nous avez pas encore rendu visite, ou si vous en redemandez, venez nous rejoindre ce soir !

Full houses, lines around the block, and smiling faces at Fringe! ✨

Days 5 & 6 of Fringe saw tons of sold out shows, camaraderie in the courtyard, and hundreds of gorgeous patrons, volunteers, and Fringe staff! We’re just over the halfway mark of the festival, but there’s still tons of performances and Community Series programming to go! The next 5 days promise even more Fringe-tastic magic - we’ll see you on the festival grounds!

Salles combles, files d’attente qui font le tour du pâté de maisons et visages souriants au Fringe ! ✨

Les 5e et 6e jours du Fringe ont été marqués par de nombreux spectacles à guichets fermés, une ambiance conviviale dans la cour et la présence de centaines de spectateurs, de bénévoles et de membres du personnel du Fringe, tous rayonnants ! Nous avons déjà dépassé la moitié du festival, mais il reste encore de nombreux spectacles et des programmes de la série « Community Series » à découvrir ! Weekend #1 of Fringe is in the books! 📚

We were thrilled to welcome our friends from the Kiki House of Greta Constantine for a Welcome to Ballroom workshop which ate, slayed, and of course devoured, as well as the incredibly talented Peniel Yares who filled the courtyard with beautiful music. Le premier week-end du Fringe est déjà derrière nous !

Nous avons été ravis d’accueillir nos amis de la Kiki House de Greta Constantine pour un atelier « Welcome to Ballroom » qui a fait sensation, a mis le feu et, bien sûr, a fait un tabac, ainsi que l’incroyablement talentueux Peniel Yares qui a rempli la cour de sa magnifique musique. The disco may be silent, but this Fringe is OUT LOUD!! 🎧

Day 3 saw a slew of sold-out shows, sensational serenading from TwoSols, a groove-tastic Silent Disco, and delicious eats from La Bonne Cuisine, SuzyQ Donuts, and OneIGIRI or Two! What will today bring? Well, you’ll have to check our story to find out!!
