An announcement from the creative director.
It is with great sadness that I’m announcing today that The Ottawa Fashion Show has been canceled.
There were several issues present that would have resulted in an event that would not have been a positive experience for our attendees, designers, models, and the show as a whole. I made every effort to overcome these challenges. Unfortunately, sometimes that isn’t enough…
My goal was to create a platform for arts, fashion, and culture in a way that hadn’t been done before here in Ottawa. I had high hopes for this project initially and still do. I greatly hope for a time when the show may be able to proceed and that the event will be a successful one! I would not have felt a sense of accomplishment or pride if the show had proceeded on it’s currently trajectory.
I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been involved in growing a strong community. Without your support, the show would have simply stayed an idea… not something that has the potential to one day become special.
For now, I need a break. My heart hurts for this loss and I will take some time to reevaluate my next steps. I greatly hope to pick up where I left off so that I can proudly say “The Ottawa Fashion Show accomplished more that we ever thought possible.”
