Kars Aces Ladies Intermediate Fastpitch Softball team will be hosting a 4 team Skins Game Tournament on June 7 & 8th this summer. We have our team entered as well as an All-Star team from the Glen Cairn Ladies League and the Bytowne Belles. We are looking for one more teams to complete the tournament. We will play a round robin on Saturday with the first game beginning at 8:30AM and the last game beginning at 6:30PM.
The "skins" will be awarded based upon the clear winner of each inning (we will provide more detailed rules to the teams that are entered). In the round robin portion of the tournament each inning will be worth $25 in travel expenses.
On Sunday, the third and fourth place teams will play at 9AM, each inning of that game will be worth $50 in travel expenses.
The first versus second game will begin at 11AM, each inning of that game will be worth $100 in travel expenses.
We will be playing on our beautiful home diamond located in the Kars RA grounds.
The entry fee will be $600 per team.
There will be $2100 in total travel expenses awarded, each individual team's total will be based on how many total innings they win, it is possible to lose a game, but still win more skins than the winning team.
We have obtained insurance for this event, and as such will not be requiring that teams be PWSA affiliated, so any teams are welcome, PWSA, ladies league or All Star teams from a ladies league.
We haven't finalized plans for a canteen yet, but our team may attempt to run one, if not we'll figure something out well before the tournament. The indoor washrooms in the field house beside the diamond will be available to us for the whole weekend.
This tournament will not take near as much work as hosting Easterns did, but we will definitely be putting a call out to anyone local that could help us with the upkeep of the diamond for the two days, helping us to keep very official score since that is key in a Skins tournament, or possibly running a fundraiser selling at least some cold water/energy drinks around the diamond.
