On May 25, media, artists, industry professionals, music fans, and community supporters gathered at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa for the official launch of the DREAMS! Music Awards 2026 presented by Invest Durham.⁣
⁣
Hosted by Will McGuirk, recipient of the 2025 DREAMS! Music Industry Leader Award, the event announced the return of the awards on September 18, 2026, at the Biltmore Theatre, while officially opening award submissions and jury applications.⁣

The launch featured a special video appearance from Crown Lands and an exciting announcement from Paul Andrew Smith and Michael O'Neil of the band Wednesday (2022 Hall of Fame inductees), who revealed that Ajax punk-rock legends Sum 41 will receive the 2026 DREAMS! Lifetime Achievement Award and be inducted into the Durham Region Music Hall of Fame.⁣

The celebration continued with powerful tribute performances by Will Gillespie, Jules McCools, and Candace & Michael, honouring Sum 41's music and legacy.⁣

A special thank you to Diana Cerovich, Jacob Hamayda, Hayden Trafford, and the award-winning Biltmore Theatre team; Eileen Kennedy of Invest Durham; our volunteers, performers, and speakers; and everyone who joined us in celebrating the vibrant music community of the Durham Region.⁣

All Ages annual benefit concert performed by young musicians (8 to 25 years old) who donate their time and talents for fundraising initiatives. These young performers from across the world, donate their time and incredible talent, to raise funds for local and global charities.

Local Durham Charity - John Dawson Music Fund (Community Foundation dedicated to nurturing and fostering talents of children aged 8 - 18. The fund aims to remove financial barriers for young musicians, supporting their artistic growth and passion for music.)
