You’ve probably seen the headlines:
“Millennials Can’t Afford Adulthood”
“Gen Z Has No Work Ethic”
“Generation Alpha Is Glued to Screens”
But that’s not what I saw this weekend.
At the Kids Market in Lee Park, I saw something completely different:
-Kids and families who showed up early, set up booths, worked hard, and engaged with neighbours face-to-face.
-Young people brimming with initiative, creativity, and confidence—selling handmade crafts, running games, and proudly explaining their products.
Even though it’s a small snapshot, it tells a bigger story:
The next generation is thoughtful, driven, and full of heart. Here in North Bay, they’re already proving it.
This experience made me feel so proud of our community—and a lot more hopeful about where we’re headed.
