We are thrilled to share the journey of one of our incredible WBAC participants! -Ryusei Sano-
“After WBAC in Nagoya, I received a full scholarship to attend the NBS Summer Intensive. Looking back now, that was the moment my ballet life began to move in a colorful and exciting new direction.
After that, I enrolled at NBS. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel nervous at all, I felt more joy and excitement than anything else. One of the most unforgettable works I performed at NBS was ‘Come In.’ It was such a beautiful and meaningful piece, and I still go back to watch it from time to time.
Now, I have been living in Toronto for eight years and am currently dancing with Ballet Jörgen. There, I have had the opportunity to perform roles such as Bluebird, Puck, and the Prince in The Nutcracker.
NBS is my hometown—a place I can call home and always feel safe returning to. I am deeply grateful to WBAC for guiding me to that path.”
(Thank you for this amazing letter!)
We couldn’t be prouder! During that competition, the talented judges Alexander Gorbatsevich and Vera Timosheva, from the National Ballet School, saw his potential and invited him on this life-changing path. WBAC opens doors for future stars—and this is just one example.
We believe in nurturing dreams, guiding talent, and celebrating every success story—just like this one. Stay tuned for more inspiration!
